‘The Fishing Hole’ wooden cutting board/charcuterie board

I remember as a child watching this Great Blue Heron silently swoop down onto a small pond, not 10 feet from where I was sitting. Watching him hunt for small fish was almost magical, blurring the line between what I could see and what the heron could see, swimming beneath the surface. Years later, that wonderful memory inspired me to create this artwork. This particular board/art combination was chosen for its chatoyancy (ripples of light in the birch wood), which adds to the effect of water and light playing on the scene.

This artwork has been laser-etched onto a stunning Curly Yellow Birch cutting and serving board and features a classic, modern handle skillfully carved into the wood.
